Research Overview

Dr. Danell is currently serving as Dean of Harriot College so is not recruiting students for her research lab.

Analytical chemistry research in the Danell Lab is focused on fundamental studies and applications of mass spectrometry technology. Mass spectrometry analysis occurs in a unique environment because there is no water or other solvent surrounding the molecules inside a mass spectrometer. We are particularly interested in learning more about gas phase structure to further the application of mass spectrometry to problems of biological significance. Project areas include:

  • ESI-induced Shifts in Metal-Peptide Equilibria
  • Collaborative research with colleagues in Pharmacology & Toxicology, Chemistry, Pediatrics, and other areas
